Academic program

The PhD in Administration aims to train PhDs who, from a humanistic, inter-, multi- and transdisciplinary perspective, conduct original research within the field of administration to contribute strategic and innovative solutions to the complex problems faced by organizations, in a context of global competition, and with ethical principles and social responsibility.

To achieve this goal, the Doctoral Program has established a triad of Lines of Knowledge Generation and Application (LGAC) to systematize research efforts. These LGACs are the result of preparatory work with experienced faculty and researchers who collaborated on the Doctoral Program's curriculum design, and therefore reflect social and academic needs that align with the University's objectives.

The 3 lines of research developed are related to the priority topics set out in the Special Program of Science, Technology and Innovation (PECyTI) 2019-2024 and the Sustainable Development Goals, with this aim to ensure that the research problems respond to specific demands of the private, public and social sectors.
The goal is for graduates to be able to:

• To propose public policies that allow the optimization of the financial and budgetary function in the three levels of government, as well as fiscal policies and/or strategies for investment and bank and stock market financing, in order to increase the levels of collection and reduce tax evasion and avoidance within the constitutional framework and contribute to sustainable economic development, through the hermeneutic-documentary analysis of legal and accounting standards and the performance of comparative studies of the national and international environment.

• To maximize the performance of organizations and reduce their exposure to risk arising from the political, economic and social stability of emerging economies, in order to support decision-making on investment flows, through the analysis and evaluation of the fiscal and financial structures of investment alternatives presented in countries of this nature.

• Develop and propose innovative investment and funding strategies, based on the design and application of probabilistic models, to optimize the use of the financial resources of organizations and guarantee their permanence, within a framework of social responsibility.

• To contribute to social welfare through the proposal of public policies and financial strategies aimed at improving the redistribution and remuneration of income, based on principles of professional ethics and within the framework of social responsibility.

• To critically analyze the theoretical and methodological foundations of organizational models in local and global contexts, as well as to identify the elements that promote the quality and effectiveness of the organization's processes and the social well-being of the parties involved, in order to propose improvements aimed at the efficiency of organizations from the field of administration.

• Design and apply quantitative models for business and economics, in order to evaluate the management of operations and resources of organizations, and contribute to decision-making aimed at increasing organizational quality and the well-being of stakeholders, with an open attitude towards collaborative and interdisciplinary work.

• To assess the impact of internal policies and control processes of organizations on the well-being of stakeholders, as well as on decision-making focused on the operation and administration of organizations.

• Study new proposals for national and international policies and strategies, in order to formulate possible prospective scenarios of a political, economic and social nature derived from these changes and their impact on international business, based on economic studies.

• Apply quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods to analyze market fluctuations and the international trade policies that regulate them, in order to propose strategies that contribute to the global growth and development of organizations.

• To develop proposals for international business policies and strategies based on ethical principles and with a humanistic vision, from the approaches of multiculturalism, social responsibility and sustainable development, to contribute to social well-being and the evolution of organizations.
