Academic program

To provide and update knowledge in the scientific, didactic, sociocultural, ethical, and pedagogical areas, based on recent educational research, necessary for teaching the Visual Arts. To contribute to a well-founded and critical reflection on educational theories and practices in artistic expression and visual and technological culture. To promote ongoing research and innovation in visual arts education.
Scientific and pedagogical competence for the teaching profession in visual arts; Competencies for the promotion of differentiated pedagogical strategies that lead to the success and achievement of each student; Promoter of research in art education.
According to the Legal Regime for Teacher Qualification (DL No. 79/2014, of May 14), the conditions for access to the study cycle are cumulative as follows:
To have a higher academic qualification;
Having completed 120 ECTS credits in the scientific area of ​​Visual Arts, and can apply with 75% of the required credits;
Taking a test that certifies oral and written proficiency in the Portuguese language.
Classification criteria:
He has a degree in the field or similar and has 75% of the required credits (120);
Classification of the qualified academic degree;
Appreciation of the academic, scientific and technical curriculum;
Portuguese test classification.
