Academic program

OBJECTIVE
To train highly skilled specialists in the generation and application of empirical knowledge who have the knowledge and abilities to analyze and interpret socio-economic, cultural and political reality with creativity and with the rigor derived from a solid theoretical-methodological training.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
1. That graduates, trained to a level of excellence, graduate within the expected time, through the presentation of a thesis that can be transformed into publications or products that obtain distinctions.
2. That graduates can easily continue their training in doctoral programs at recognized quality academies.
3. That graduates can perform adequately in the workplace, whether as teachers or in high positions in the public sector and in civil society organizations.

The graduate must have a solid theoretical and methodological background, as well as master a set of specific knowledge, capacities and skills that allow them to apply and generate knowledge both in the field of research, as well as in addressing relevant social problems.
The minimum skills that the graduate must demonstrate are considered to be the following:

1. Ability to critically interpret social phenomena and scientific research in the field of social sciences.
2. Solid methodological training to formulate research problems through the development of research designs that meet high quality standards.
3. Mastery of research techniques in social sciences, both qualitative and quantitative, as well as advanced handling of techniques and methods in one of these two aspects.
4. Solid training in the fundamentals of social theory, oriented towards reflection on specific fields of research.
5. Ability to formulate projects, as well as to analyze and evaluate public policies.
6. Solid training in the English language with emphasis on communicative skills and vocabulary specific to the social sciences.

These capabilities aim to ensure that Master's graduates can successfully integrate into academia, the public sector, civil society organizations, and the private business sector. In addition to skills development and knowledge transfer, studying at CES facilitates the acquisition of social capital for its graduates, as well as access to networking opportunities with various sectors through research projects, consulting, and job offers.
