Academic program

The central objective of the Master's in Teaching is to improve professional teaching practice; therefore, its object of study is professional teaching praxis. That is, it examines the reflective, contextualized, and intentional action that combines theoretical elements with the varied interactions between teaching and learning. This object of study is approached from the perspectives of educational sciences, pedagogical models, and the history of teaching. More specific objectives:

- To contribute to the solution of disciplinary, interdisciplinary or professional problems inherent to teaching practice such as evaluation, curriculum, teaching and teaching strategies.
- To awaken in master's students the reflective spirit, oriented towards the achievement of personal autonomy, within the framework of freedom of thought and ideological pluralism.
- To develop creativity and innovation by fostering analytical and comprehensive skills, in order to generate knowledge about reality and the environment, so that it can be used as an instrument for change, development and social transformation.
- To contribute to the building of social fabric and the development of civic skills through reflection, practice and research.
Graduates of the Master's in Teaching are expected to be able to:

• To formulate and manage training proposals with a clear option for the most needy, where Lasallian values ​​(faith, fraternity, service, justice and commitment) are the platform for a society capable of recognizing the other, including him in his difference, showing solidarity with his condition and promoting him as an agent of his own processes.

• Apply didactic models and styles in guiding the teaching and learning processes of disciplinary knowledge in different educational settings in order to make their professional teaching practice an object of reflection and continuous improvement.

• Develop pedagogical and didactic proposals aimed at improving professional teaching practice.

• To carry out actions that promote teamwork, debate and argumentation, enabling their participation in research groups and their integration into political, community and educational settings.

• Participate in society guided by the principles of humanity and the structuring of a democratic, pluralistic and inclusive society.

• To investigate in their contexts of action based on the understanding and knowledge of at least one research method in the social sciences.
