The PPFH aims to serve the redefinition of the field in both public policies and human formation as they are thought out, in order to overcome the excessive "setorialization" of initiatives that, in both fields, end up determining their particularist emphasis, both in terms of excessive theoretical formalism and that, at times, or in pós-graduação aims to confront such a situation. This intention must be concretized by the centrality granted to politics, understood as practices of social formation and human formation, in the promotion of investigative and educational competences in the different experiences and realities of social insertion that the candidates for the Program must embody. Although PPFH intends to define itself by its roots in Brazilian reality, it aims, for this purpose, to encourage dialogue and permanent exchange with Post-Graduation Programs and research teams in other countries, with special emphasis on Latin America. This sensitivity leads both to the privileging of references and particular study methodologies, as well as to a permanent search for new modalities of inter-institutional exchanges.
