Academic program
General objective:
To train researchers and professionals of high academic level in fields of contemporary economic knowledge, capable of critically analyzing economic phenomena, as well as proposing alternative solutions that emphasize the historical perspective or the dynamics of companies and the economy, according to the selected specialty.
Specific objectives:
Field of Knowledge: Business, Finance and Innovation.
1. Analyze business behaviors in relation to innovation dynamics and recommend actions to promote their technological capabilities;
2. To develop diagnoses and proposals to strengthen productive links between small businesses and to increase their productivity; and
3. Develop diagnoses and proposals so that a small business can design its business and financing plan, determining the best sources of funds according to the projects in question.
Field of Knowledge: Economic History.
1. Analyze economic problems from a historical perspective;
2. To evaluate the economic performance of the country and its regions within a set of contexts in the long term, and
3. Analyze and design econometric models for the study of past economic problems.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, social sciences, engineering, or sciences. At the discretion of the Master's Program Coordinator, students from other disciplinary areas may be admitted, provided they align with the fields of knowledge offered.
Have a minimum overall average of 8.0 in the undergraduate degree.
Pass the entrance exam.
Conduct an interview and demonstrate that there is a thematic affinity and aptitude for pursuing Master's studies.
Submit and pass an English language reading comprehension exam at the Foreign Languages Coordination or another institution recognized by said coordination.
Graduates are distinguished by their high academic standing and practical skills in applied economics, particularly in the areas of management, innovation, and competitiveness of businesses and public institutions, as well as in consulting work. They also receive up-to-date theoretical training that prepares them to be well-positioned as candidates for academic or doctoral studies in Mexico or abroad. Graduates of the Master's in Economics program work in private and public organizations, in positions coordinating and managing change processes. They also engage in consulting activities. Another career path is teaching, and some graduates have continued their studies at the doctoral level.
