Academic program
CIDE has established itself as one of Mexico's leading research and teaching centers in the social sciences and has received significant national and international recognition. The rigor and relevance of its research have made it an essential resource for discussions on public issues and a source of expert advice for decision-makers in the public, private, and social sectors.
The PhD program in Public Policy at CIDE focuses on the study of public policy by integrating the technical rigor of economic analysis with the sophistication of organizational and institutional analysis. In this way, it trains top-quality academics and analysts capable of understanding the how and why of public decisions and of proposing and implementing solutions to the complex and varied social problems of Mexico and Latin American countries in general. The quality of the program is supported by a faculty comprised of highly prestigious experts in their fields, by courses whose content is at the forefront of the discipline, and by the academic rigor and excellence that characterize CIDE's academic programs.
Students in the Doctoral Program in Public Policy receive training comparable to that of top-tier international programs; they receive personalized attention and guidance; and they benefit from the synergies between the Center's academic divisions and its extensive network of contacts within the academic community. Since January 2008, the program has been recognized by CONACYT and supported by the National Quality Graduate Program (PNPC). This guarantees that all accepted students will receive a tuition scholarship and financial support for living expenses.
