CASS and CLACSO sign memorandum

On Thursday, June 24, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). The event also included a presentation of the dialogues on development experiences between China and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Among other points, Karina Batthyány stated that “the signing of an agreement between CLACSO and CASS is a milestone in cooperation between academic institutions in the Global South, which will allow us to carry out training, exchange and publication activities, and undertake joint research projects… This agreement is part of the South-South Cooperation for Development agenda, and expresses the solidarity between peoples and countries to promote well-being and development goals.”
He then added: “Our first activity will be a series of Dialogues on Development Experiences between China and Latin America and the Caribbean. We are living in a time of unprecedented global challenges. This exchange will allow us to advance our understanding of regional issues.”
