Havana International Book Fair

Convened by the Cuban Institute of Cultural Research (ICIC) Juan Marinello, Casa de las Américas, the Center for Psychological and Sociological Research (CIPS), the Economic Society of Friends of the Country (SEAP), the Center for Martí Studies, the Institute of International Relations (IRI), the Center for World Economy Studies, the Center for Youth Studies, the Cuban and Latin American Cultural Identity Network, the Center for Cuban and Caribbean Social Studies (CESCA), and FLACSO-Cuba, more than 65 Cuban publishing houses gathered along with dozens of foreign publishers that exhibit their productions each year, including the Latin American Council of Social Sciences.

Lastly, CLACSO relaunches the José Martí Open Access Library in a joint effort with the Center for Martí Studies and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba. The collection, currently comprising 32 open-access volumes, includes José Martí's known manuscripts and printed works, as well as new materials discovered during its preparation: proclamations, speeches, manifestos, communications, dedications, letters, journalistic correspondence, chronicles, articles, essays, narratives, plays, poems, biographical sketches, translations, drawings, drafts, fragments of writings, and notebooks.

This library incorporates corrections or revisions to previously published works and also includes commentaries and explanatory notes on figures and events mentioned by Martí in his extensive body of work, speeches, letters, and journalistic pieces. It also includes name, geographical, and subject indexes, which are very useful for researchers and professors.
