CLACSO Working Group on Social Metabolism/Environmental Justice
From the critical perspective of eleven researchers from different countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, the texts gathered here expose, through various case studies, the exterminatory nature of the capitalist social metabolism, its destructive impacts on Latin American and Caribbean territories and communities, and the urgent need to move towards a metabolism that, anchored in local needs, has environmental justice as its principle and horizon.
