Studies on the United States
The CLACSO Working Group on Studies on the United States has had a long and fruitful academic life since it was created in 2004.
After more than 18 years of uninterrupted work, the following occurred
They published six books and dozens of working papers, essays and research in partnership with various institutions.
The Working Group has organized dozens of meetings in twelve countries (at CLACSO Assemblies/Conferences, ALAS and LASA Congresses, among others) and currently has 31 members from eight countries. It is also one of the most established academic bodies, whose theoretical output is a constant source of reference.
The research carried out in these almost two decades of intellectual production revolved around the hypothesis, increasingly accepted and evident in academic and political circles, of the "crisis of US hegemony," a category that served as a starting point in the research carried out to this day and which, as a methodological guide, continues to be an obligatory category to contrast the complex dynamics and correlation of forces, in its contemporary geopolitical dimensions.
