Latin American studies: national, regional and transnational perspectives
The Working Group (WG) “Latin American Studies: national, regional and transnational perspectives” aims to answer a fundamental question: What is the direction of this field in Latin America and the Caribbean in the face of global changes and social science debates from the 20th century to today?
To address this challenge and following the addition of new members, the group organizes its research in three thematic cores:
- 1. Historiography of Latin America
Focus: Institutionalization processes.
Responsible: Alexander Betancourt Mendieta and Martín López Ávalos. - 2. Exile, Gender and Intellectual History
Focus: The Latin American Cold War.
Responsible: Sandra Jaramillo and Mario Ayala. - 3. Critical Economic and Political Thought
Focus: Critical analyses and theories of the region.
Responsible: Julieta Almada and Javier Moyano.
A space of convergence to rethink the intellectual, political and methodological coordinates of our region.
