School of Evaluators in LATMÉTRICAS 2025
The Latin American Forum on Scientific Evaluation (FOLEC-CLACSO) invites you to participate in the intensive seminar on situated and responsible scientific evaluation within the framework of open science as a public and common good . This seminar will take place from November 3 to 7, 2025 , in Mexico City, as part of the LATMÉTRICAS 2025 event: “Contextual Metrics for Scientific and Technological Agendas .” It is organized by the Institute of Research in Applied Mathematics and Systems (IIMAS) and the Interinstitutional Seminar on Interdisciplinary Studies on Science, Technology, and Innovation (SEICTI) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This new edition of the School for Evaluators aims to strengthen the analytical and political capacities of actors within the scientific and academic ecosystem of Latin America and the Caribbean, promoting more open, inclusive, and socially relevant evaluation practices.
The free, hybrid training program combines in-person classes, live online sessions, and pre-recorded materials, featuring prominent regional and international experts in evaluation, open science, and science policy. Over five thematic days, the program will address the following topics: Open Science and Evaluation Criteria , Responsible and Situated Evaluation , Metrics, Openness, and Impacts , Evaluating Evaluation , and International Experiences , in a participatory format focused on critical analysis and the co-creation of transformative proposals.
The seminar is the third initiative of the School promoted by FOLEC-CLACSO, which is consolidating itself as a Latin American training space focused on counter-hegemonic scientific evaluation , in dialogue with the principles of the Declaration of Principles "A New Academic and Scientific Evaluation for a Socially Relevant Science in Latin America and the Caribbean" (2022) .
