Post-global writings in Latin America
This second volume of the MECILA-CLACSO library proposes a post-global hypothesis for reading Latin American literatures of the 21st century through the analysis of the variety of the post-global experience in Latin America and the contrast of the concepts of “collapse” and “conviviality”.
The authors of this collective work argue that the rise of national populism in Latin America, Asia, and Europe, along with the COVID-19 crisis, the ecological emergency, and persistent inequality, have generated a crisis in the narrative of globalization, a focus that has been progressively diminishing in contemporary literature. In this context, while representations of collapse highlight the vulnerability of natural and social systems, conviviality suggests the possibility of living together in a damaged world.
