UNESCO-CLACSO Meeting in Uruguay

On Monday, May 6, the Academic Council of the UNESCO MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) met in Montevideo, with the presence of Karina Batthyány, Executive Secretary of CLACSO and member of the academic committee of the UNESCO MOST-MOOC course on Inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the new edition of the MOOC, including its content and the experts who will be participating in the 2019 edition. It also facilitated further discussions on aspects of CLACSO-UNESCO cooperation relevant to this new edition (shared resources, communication strategy).

Following this, an open dialogue was held on the topic of “Policies, Public Management, and Inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean,” featuring Karina Batthyány, Andrés Morales, and Luis Carrizo, the latter two representing the regional office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The speakers identified some of the most significant challenges that inequalities pose to public management and policy design in Latin America and the Caribbean.
