Regional Meeting of Partners of the Swedish Regional Strategy for Development Cooperation in Latin America
The Latin American Council of Social Sciences is participating on May 29 and 30 in the “Regional Meeting of partners of the Swedish regional strategy for cooperation for development in Latin America” in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.
On Wednesday the 29th, the Executive Director of CLACSO, Karina Batthyány, was one of the panelists “Good practices, opportunities and challenges of Sweden’s new international cooperation policy”, along with Luis Pocasangre, Director General of CATIE; Christine Bäckström, Director of the International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR); and Pedro Vaca, Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression – OAS. Moderated by Carlos Cardenas of ForumCiv.
CLACSO met with the Colombian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MINCIENCIAS), Yesenia Olaya. They discussed MINCIENCIAS' participation in the #CLACSO2025 Conference and agreed to collaborate on open science, science assessment, and the participation of communities and social groups in knowledge production and appropriation. This powerful alliance is being strengthened in the lead-up to #CLACSO2025.
