In defense of rights and the environment

The meeting “Human rights and environmental defenders: protection strategies and regional workThe event, organized by OXFAM and CLACSO on Thursday, August 21, was aimed at groups and individuals working on these issues, particularly in relation to the Escazú Agreement.

El Escazu Agreement It is the first regional environmental agreement in Latin America and the Caribbean. Furthermore, it is the first in the world to contain specific provisions on human rights defenders working on environmental issues. It was adopted in Escazú, Costa Rica, on March 4, 2018.
