In Colombia, thousands marched for life
On July 26, thousands upon thousands of Colombians mobilized across the country, proudly carrying the banner of peace. The “March for Life” brought together social, political, and cultural organizations, as well as the academic community of Colombia, to protest the assassinations of social leaders and former combatants who signed the Peace Agreement between the government and the FARC on November 24, 2016.
Carolina Jiménez, a member of the CLACSO Steering Committee representing Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela, reported on that historic day for CLACSO Radio, highlighting the massive scale and breadth of the mobilization "which allowed the articulation of very diverse and heterogeneous political forces, committed to peace, which denotes the breadth of the citizen movement."
