In support of the Cuban people and against the blockade imposed by the United States
The Steering Committee of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, meeting in the city of Santiago, Chile, supports the denunciation of the Cuban people before the General Assembly of the United Nations against the Blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years.
We join the vast majority of countries that expressed their support for lifting the Blockade so that Cuba can continue its project of sovereignty and national independence, won and defended for more than 100 years, without US interference.
In the current moment in Our America, where many governments in the region prefer to genuflect to the United States, knowing that it will only bring dispossession and poverty to the peoples and communities, CLACSO maintains its commitment to denouncing attempts at imperialist recolonization and supporting the emancipatory processes of the continent.
The Cuban Revolution is and will be a horizon for the future, opening the new avenues that the world needs.
