As part of the joint activities of CLACSO with ALAS in Mexico, this Friday, August 29, the panel “The Challenges of the Social Sciences in Latin America” will be presented with a panel composed of Karina Batthyány, Executive Secretary of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, the sociologist and member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, Angélica Cuellar, and Ana Rivoir, President of the Latin American Sociological Association.

The PreALAS Mexico 2019 “Civilizational Emergency and New Historical Meaning” seeks to generate a space for reflection and debate on the current state of sociology, social sciences and humanities in the face of the challenges of the future of our region in a turbulent and uncertain time.
