Elections in Argentina

In light of the results of the presidential elections in Argentina, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) expresses its concern about the possible impact of the authoritarian, intolerant and regressive proposals made during the electoral campaign by the winning candidate and members of his political group, framed within an offensive by the right wing in our region.
The Latin American Council of Social Sciences reaffirms its commitment to democracy, social justice, intellectual and academic freedom, and the expansion of rights for all.
In crisis situations, the solution is invariably collective, based on building the common good from the recognition of differences and the expansion and strengthening of the public sphere.
No one will let go of anyone's hand and we will overcome this situation together, consolidating the network, as we have done for more than half a century: the deployment of a public, open, collaborative science with social impact.
At CLACSO, we reaffirm our convictions, principles, and actions in defense of hard-won rights, memory as the foundation of present and future justice, and the implementation of public policies that start from the recognition of inequalities and aim to build more just and democratic societies.
