“I am a Zapatista seed germinated in Mediterranean lands. I am not unique; on the contrary, I represent one of the many hearts that, even though we originate from this geography known as Europe, have become rebel seeds after being touched by Zapatismo. We have made an anticolonial journey in our own bodies. Against the current, we went to unlearn in the South of the South, to meet the men, women, and others of corn because their words spoke of another world, and that other world has allowed us to re-examine our own geography, our own history, our roots, and has pushed us to transform our reality.” In this way, the author of this book invites us to reconsider the transcendence of Zapatismo for the struggles of a defiant Europe, to the point of considering it a civilizational compass, essential for navigating toward a new world.
