Argentine President Alberto Fernández received the book about the EAAF.

Argentine President Alberto Fernández met on Thursday, February 27, at the Government House with human rights organizations and leaders, including Nora Cortiñas of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Founding Line, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, and representatives of the Space for Memory Institute.

On that occasion, he was given the book “Science for the truth. 35 years of the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team"It portrays the impeccable trajectory of the EAAF since its founding in 1984 and its work in more than 60 countries. The work was published by CLACSO and the National University of Quilmes (UNQ), as part of the "Juan Gelman Latin American Prize" awarded to the Team in November 2018.

Daniel Domergue, who collaborated on the book's research with Lara Negro Otero, was in charge of presenting the book to President Fernández and forwarding a letter from CLACSO's Executive Secretary, Karina Batthyány, who informed the president. “The nomination we launched, together with the National University of Quilmes, for the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize for the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team, undoubtedly an institution that has accumulated enough merit in the country and the world for such recognition.”

Part of the Juan Gelman Award was the production of a series of audiovisuals that would publicize the 35-year history of the EAAF, in which Paula Mallimaci and Carlos Fidel from UNQ interview four members of the Team: Luis Fondebrider, Mercedes Doretti, Silvana Turner and Mariana Segura.
