The constituent power of the Chilean revolt
This book, the first in CLACSO's new library, En Movimiento (In Motion), presents an assessment of the social movement that, overnight, transformed Chile's image in Latin America. On October 18, 2019, the strength of the link between neoliberalism and democracy, whose defenders had striven to present the world with so many examples of economic progress and political stability, collapsed.
One of the offshoots of the social movement that began in 2019 is the process undertaken by the Constitutional Convention. CLACSO presents this volume as a further way to support the "Approve" vote in the plebiscite this coming Sunday, which will decide whether Chile will have a new Constitution.
Drawing from different traditions of critical thought and social sciences, the En Movimiento library brings into debate the richness and prominence of the main movements, revolts and conflicts of Latin America and the Caribbean in the 21st century and the paths of transformation that they open.
