Argentina's Minister of Education, Nicolás Trotta, received CLACSO

The Minister of Education of the Argentine Nation, Nicolás Trotta, received the Executive Secretary of CLACSO Karina Batthyány in his office at the Sarmiento Palace in Buenos Aires to strengthen ties in the new stage that opened in the country on December 10, 2019.

Nicolás Trotta expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and called for a more positive approach. “a common agenda at this complex time that not only Argentina but also Latin America is going through.” The newly appointed minister recalled that, since assuming his position as Rector of the Metropolitan University for Education and Labor (UMET) in January 2014, he has maintained a very close relationship with the Latin American Council of Social Sciences. "And today, as Minister of Education, we share a common vision regarding the challenges facing Argentina and also the challenges facing the region."

In turn, Karina Batthyány highlighted CLACSO's purpose of strengthening ties with the new education authorities and “to reflect on the challenges that Argentina and the region are facing at this time.” I call “imagine concrete actions of cooperation” and he recalled that “CLACSO is available to the ministry to work together.”

Participants in the meeting included Pablo Gentili, former Executive Secretary of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences and current Secretary of International Cooperation and Priority Actions of the Argentine Ministry of Education, and Nicolás Arata, Director of Training and Editorial Production of CLACSO.
