The martyrdom of Central American immigrants
The thousands upon thousands of Central American migrants who embark on the perilous journey north, fleeing poverty and violence in their own countries, are confronted by the wall of concrete, steel, and hypocrisy erected by US President Donald Trump. Within the United States, they are persecuted, imprisoned, and deported, with particular mistreatment directed at children who are separated from their parents. This is a reality that cannot leave anyone indifferent, and one that the Latin American Council of Social Sciences closely monitors in its research and actions.
