In times of crisis and a global hegemonic transition, this book presents a critical perspective from Latin America and the Caribbean on the legacy of Donald Trump's presidency in the United States. What did four years in the White House mean? What will the future of Trumpism be? Is a new hegemony emerging to replace the American one, or are we heading toward "systemic chaos" or "global disorder"? This work, which brings together studies by ten female and sixteen male researchers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, and Spain, is composed of three sections that analyze, respectively, the Trump administration within the framework of the global hegemonic transition, the internal fractures during his administration, and US policy toward Latin America and the Caribbean. Based on the central hypothesis of the crisis of US hegemony, of which Trump was both a manifestation and an acceleration, this volume critically examines Trumpism and its recent electoral defeat with a view to resuming the projects of political coordination and cooperation that are oriented towards the integration of Our America.
