The CLACSO Working Group “Territorialities, Spiritualities and Bodies” rejects foreign intervention in Venezuela.

What has happened in Venezuela presents a worrying and unsettling scenario for Latin America and the world. No government can, under any circumstances, intervene in another nation and infringe upon its sovereignty and self-determination.

Diplomatic channels, dialogue, and the creation of spaces for conversation must always be the path forward, never violence. From the CLACSO Working Group on Territorialities, Spiritualities, and Bodies, we have studied the power of territorialities, and therefore we express our condemnation of what has occurred in our sister nation of Venezuela; and we offer our solidarity.
with its inhabitants in the midst of this complex situation.

We reject the way in which a possible colonial intention is being displayed and any form of exploitation of the natural resources of our Latin American peoples, as well as interference in their social, cultural and political paths.

Our countries are free, sovereign, and possess their own self-determination, which we defend fiercely and in solidarity as academics and critical researchers of the problems of the present, which today demands Latin American and Caribbean unity in the face of any foreign intervention in our nations.
