The Shadow Team
On Thursday, March 6, the Café La Diaria in Montevideo (Bacacay 1306) hosted the presentation of the book “The Shadow Team: Resistance, Underground Life and Everyday Life of Uruguayan Communists in Buenos Aires (1973-1985),” by Ana Diamant y Silvia Dutrénit Bielous.
With the authors and key figures from that era in attendance, they presented: Karina Batthyány (Executive Director of CLACSO) and Gerardo Caetano (historian, president of the National Academy of Letters of Uruguay).
The authors are two researchers, women and mothers, both young communist militants who, in another life, had to take refuge from the dictatorships established in the region, first in their own country, and then in the country of exile, between the years 1973 and 1976 of the last century.
