The baptism of the Leviathan

 The baptism of the Leviathan

In this new book from the CLACSO-CALAS collection, a two-volume study, Heinrich Wilhelm Schäfer explores the causes of the growing importance of religion in politics by analyzing the practices of Protestant elites in the United States and Latin America, using secularism and social inequality as the central themes of his argument. Thus, this book does not focus on believers, their religious lives, or their political preferences, but rather exclusively on the strategies by which certain religious experts gain influence (or attempt to gain it) in the political arena.
