Transformative Gender Education for Latin America and the Caribbean

On Wednesday, August 7, the Executive Director of CLACSO, Karina Batthyány, participated in the Dialogue Tables “Regional Declaration on Gender Transformative Education for Latin America and the Caribbean"together with strategic actors who are part of the consultation process for the preparation of a regional declaration."
The activity, organized by Fòs Feminista and the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE), aimed to gather perspectives, experiences and recommendations in relation to the future and aspirations of gender-transformative education in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The objective of the meeting was to identify promising practices and current policies related to gender equality in education, as well as the needs and areas of opportunity to promote and implement comprehensive strategies aimed at achieving truly transformative gender education.
The purpose of this regional declaration is, along with others, to contribute to the global development process on Gender Transformative Education of the Feminist Network for Gender Transformative Education (FemNet4GTE) of the United Nations Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI).
The consultation and development process of the Regional Declaration on Gender Transformative Education for Latin America and the Caribbean is being led by Fòs Feminista in collaboration with the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE), as well as other organizations that are part of FemNet4GTE.
