Education and interculturality

El CLACSO Working Group on Education and Interculturality It addresses different aspects of interculturality in the field of education, fostering interdisciplinary and international dialogue. Initiated in 2016, the group currently comprises 70 researchers from Latin America and other regions, who, by sharing their research, generate a wealth of information and knowledge on the subject. In the 2026-2028 edition, our focus will continue to be on the diverse educational experiences of Indigenous and migrant children and youth: from the intergenerational transmission of knowledge and their varied schooling experiences in diverse contexts to their inclusion in higher education. We seek to connect these family and community-based educational situations with school and social contexts, analyzing, in turn, the inequalities they face, their commonalities, and the specificities of national formations of otherness. We hold meetings (virtual and/or in-person) among our members to share the progress of our shared agenda and generate new products. We also carry out outreach activities through the Educating in Diversity Newsletter and through joint publications, such as the book Interculturality and education in contexts of inequality in Latin America (Clacso 2025) and thematic issues in specialized journals.
