Popular economies

 Popular economies

The informal economies discussed in this book occupy and constitute specific spaces and moments, which are not limited to streets and markets, nor are they confined to periods of austerity and crisis. They are also not limited to local, peripheral, or invisible places. Their activities generate networks and continue to evolve, revealing the interdependence of scales, circulations, and movements, while simultaneously comprising histories, experiences, and futures that open up potential scenarios, even those of transition.

We present the new Emerging Agendas collection, the product of the open call of the same name, which aims to publish books that highlight the production of the emerging generations of researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean, to generate a space for visibility and dissemination in open access of the results of their work, reflections and research, whether they involve new approaches to classic problems or have emerging objects of study in social research, with a Latin American focus and generational perspective.
