Political economy and culture
This book, co-published with CIESPAL, proposes a reflection on the challenges facing progressive forces in Latin America within a regional context characterized by the decline of the democratic experiments that marked the first decade of the 21st century. To this end, it considers communication as a fundamental key to analyzing the major structural shifts in capitalism that began in the latter decades of the previous century and their consequences for the subjective experience. The ultimate goal is the construction of alternative forms of mediation that guarantee the cultural autonomy the working class needs to generate mobilizing utopias, capable of confronting the postmodern and liberal ideologies that seek to channel all of society's creative energies toward the market.
