CLACSO Working Group Political Ecology(ies) from the South/Abya-Yala
Political ecology, as presented in this book, calls us to join forces with the movements, communities, and organizations waging an unequal struggle against a world-system that continues to view nature as something external to itself, rather than as an integral part of it. Nevertheless, from various points across the region and the world, communities are coming together to seek new strategies of resistance and re-existence in order to build alternatives. These alternatives no longer rely solely on direct confrontation and legal action, but rather on vital practices that reclaim what has been termed an ecological spirituality and an emotional rationality that guides us toward the healing of violated bodies.
