Ecology, capital and culture
From a critique of the discourse of globalization and sustainable development, Enrique Leff uncovers the deep roots of the environmental crisis, such as a crisis of economic rationality and dominant instrumental reason, and elaborates the foundations of a new productive paradigm supported by the values of biological diversity, ecological productivity, cultural heterogeneity, participatory democracy and environmental justice. These principles constitute productive potentials for an alternative productive paradigm through which a new environmental rationality is territorialized based on the conditions of the creative evolution of life, a policy of difference and an ethic of outridade, orienting a historical transition for the sustainability of life on planet Earth.
