La National University of Tres de Febrero, Together with the UOCRA Foundation[Name of organization] prepared a report on job quality and the socio-productive structure. This initial analysis was presented to create a space for study and debate to evaluate different labor market indicators.
The current situation of the Argentine labor market presents some interesting aspects that deserve in-depth analysis. We observe that in recent months, several analyses related to the recent economic recovery have been developed, characterized by optimism regarding economic growth and the recovery of labor demand.
However, our perspective, expressed throughout the various issues of this Dossier, adopts a more cautious stance. While this economic and employment recovery represents a positive aspect in the short term, at least two negative phenomena are observed that should be included in these analyses. The positive aspect lies in the fact that the surrounding conditions, primarily represented by economic growth, are provisionally improving in the short term, with prospects for this trend to continue next year. The negative aspect, however, stems from the uneven impact of this growth, combined with the presence of other important indicators that have not yet improved.
With this new issue, we aim to contribute to a discussion that we don't see happening: how to generate, or at least improve in relative terms, the necessary number of jobs in a system that doesn't demand them sufficiently, leaving a large part of its workforce to "create their own jobs." The CIEA and the UOCRA Foundation are committed to debating the policies we need to begin correcting some of the structural problems we face.
