Two CLACSO member centers were bombed by the US military under the mandate of Donald Trump

The Steering Committee of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences condemns the destruction of the facilities of the Mathematics Center of the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (IVIC), a scientific and academic space of the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, in Caracas, Venezuela.

The attack occurred last Saturday, January 3, at 1:57 a.m. as part of the United States' military aggression against Venezuela.

IVIC is home to two CLACSO member centers, with whom we express special solidarity.

We reject the attack on scientific and academic institutions and reaffirm our position that the aggression against Venezuela, the Caribbean and all of Latin America must end, for the defense of the region as a zone of peace, for respect for sovereignty and for the full validity of international law.
