Diversity in dialogue
Diversity in Dialogue podcast is an audio series that reflects on human diversity and how it is experienced in educational settings. It features the voices of specialists from the CLACSO Working Group on “Education and Interculturality” and concludes with performances by guest musicians.
In this first season we discuss what is meant by interculturality, and we also reflect on how the knowledge and presence of indigenous and migrant peoples are perceived in schools.

Chapter 1. In dialogue with the Working Group on Education and Interculturality
For indigenous and migrant peoples in Latin America, access to formal education has not always been easy, and at various times they have been directly excluded from the education system.
In the first chapter of Diversity in Dialogue we spoke with the coordinators of the Education and Interculturality Working Group, Dr. Patricia Ames from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, Dr. Mariana García Palacios and Dr. Ana Carolina Hecht from the University of Buenos Aires, about those who investigate education in contexts of diversity and inequality, what topics they address and what their work can be used for.

There are many strange words, and interculturality is one of them. Politicians, teachers, and social scientists from different countries use phrases like "intercultural dialogue," "intercultural education," and "intercultural communication," but what do they mean?
In this episode, Dr. Maria Aparecida Bergamaschi from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) and Dr. Julieta Briseño Roa from the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology (Mexico) will give us some answers.

Chapter 4: Interculturality and Migration
Many children around the world experience migration from a very early age, either their own or that of their loved ones.
In this episode, we explore how migrant children experience schooling and how they are received by the school system. To do so, we will speak with Dr. Gabriela Novaro and Dr. María Laura Diez from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Dr. María Florencia Amigó from Macquarie University (Australia).
