In the contemporary Latin American scenario, pedagogy faces unprecedented problems resulting from the changes that the COVID-19 pandemic imposed on educational systems, while also updating historical problems.
The role of schools in social dynamics and the ways of sustaining educational continuity have been at the center of political-pedagogical debates in the last year, but also, people began to think about the medium and long-term problems that this situation produces, linked fundamentally to the deepening of inequalities and the emergence of new exclusions.
On the other hand, the gradual return of students to schools, the disruption of school spaces, and the development of criteria for organizing possible educational activities pose new challenges to the agendas of teachers, management teams, educational policymakers, and intellectuals in the field.
This, within the framework of the advance of neoliberal perspectives in education, creates complex contexts in which repositioning the focus on pedagogy is essential and cannot be postponed.
In this sense, the Diploma offers an approach to the conceptual and methodological study of contemporary pedagogical problems from a critical, multidisciplinary, and Latin American perspective. The training program includes key elements for problematization and analysis in general, as well as in-depth study of specific and relevant problems within the current context.
To foster spaces for conversation and the construction of conceptual and methodological tools that allow for a more complex and enriched understanding of contemporary pedagogical problems and their possible approaches.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
To offer conceptual and methodological tools for the problematization and analysis of the Latin American pedagogical field.
Reconstructing pedagogical problems linked to the dislocations of the school space, the new configurations in pedagogical practices, the tensions between the public and the popular, intercultural education and the challenges for educational policies.
To foster spaces for conversation, discussion and work among and with different protagonists in the Latin American pedagogical field.
The Higher Diploma in Contemporary Pedagogical Problems is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students; teachers at all levels; activists and members of trade unions, social movements and political parties; public officials; members and managers of non-governmental organizations and professionals interested in educational issues.

If the student decides not to enroll in the Advanced Diploma program before its formal start date, they may request a refund of their tuition fees. CLACSO will retain the equivalent of 10% for administrative costs.
Exceptional criteria: In exceptional cases, and within the first month of the start of the Advanced Diploma program, students may request to withdraw from the cohort and rejoin the following year. In all cases, the reasons for the request must be submitted in writing. After that period of time has elapsed since the start of the course, no requests will be accepted.
