GENERAL PURPOSE
- To provide perspectives and conceptual tools that allow for a more complex and enriched pedagogical reading of contemporary educational problems and challenges.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Update the approaches to analyze the social characteristics in which schools, subjects of education, and teaching practices are embedded.
- Reconstruct the main elements of the pedagogical debates, identifying their trends and effects on educational development.
- To offer elements for the analysis of educational institutions in the context of contemporary cultural, social and political debates.

The modules that comprise the advanced diploma are:Lessons:
- School and the conditions of the times: the situation of education in Latin America.
- School and the right to education in times of transformation.
- Contemporary Latin American pedagogies: a starting point.
- The capabilities of invention, innovation, transformation and generation of alternatives, beyond school formats.
Lessons:
- Historical features of education in Latin America.
- Education, government, and society. The educational program of modernity.
- Discussions about school forms, cultures, and grammars.
- The debates surrounding the expansion of the school system.
Lessons:
- Education from an institutional perspective: current debates.
- To develop knowledge about educational organizations as contexts for action and participation.
- The school as a place for the transmission of knowledge, as a space for building the common and the collective.
- Educational pathways: the journey of students, teachers, and educators in the education system.
Lessons:
- What is the curriculum?: around the definition of the curriculum.
- The subjects of curriculum determination. Models and experiences.
- Curriculum regulations, standards, teaching styles; the common, the basic, the general and the particular, the national and the jurisdictional.
- The role of teachers in the curriculum determination process.
Lessons:
- The reasons for evaluating.
- Purpose of the evaluation: to make decisions and understand the educational phenomenon.
- Policies for the evaluation and accreditation of knowledge.
- The components of evaluation. School rankings and forms of social control.
The workshop is a training space designed to guide the development of the final project for the higher diploma, incorporating the contributions from the different modules that make up the entire training course.

Yes, the advanced diploma is certified and accredited by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). The diploma will be sent digitally and is completely free of charge.
