Dictionary of critical terms in literature and culture in Latin America

Coordinator: Beatriz Colombi.
The proposal to compile this collectively authored dictionary arose from the interest in and need to reflect on the specialized vocabulary within the field of Latin American cultural and literary studies. The selected terms refer to diverse problems, contexts, and geocultural areas, and in this sense, they form a broad map of Latin American criticism. Seeking to assess and update the conceptual legacy that is representative of the continent's cultural history, all the terms considered, articulated as an organic whole through cross-references, give substance to Latin Americanism, a discursive formation marked by controversies and subject to critical revision in recent times. A useful reference material for those interested in Latin American studies, from young researchers to specialists and general readers, this work aims to demonstrate the transformations of the field and, at the same time, to highlight Latin America's contribution to literary and cultural criticism.
