Social dialogue in Fortaleza, Brazil
On Thursday, June 29, the Forum “Social Movements and Territories for Life” began at the State University of Ceará (UECE) in Fortaleza, Brazil. Its purpose is to bring together members of Latin American and Caribbean academia, social movements, organizations, and collectives that are already decision-makers in public policy, to reflect on and understand the proposals, capacities, potential, pending agendas, and conflicts of social movements and activism in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The words of welcome were in charge of Karina Batthyány, Executive Director of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, Lia Pinheiro Barbosa, representative of the CLACSO Steering Committee in Brazil, and Magdalena Rauch, one of the CLACSO Training Coordinators, in front of a packed auditorium.
