International Workers' Day
This Saturday, May 1st, is commemorated in much of the world as Labor Day. It is a historic date honoring the workers killed in Chicago in 1886 for demanding “Eight hours for work, eight for sleep, and eight for home.”
The pandemic has further exposed the precariousness and informality of employment, as well as social inequality worldwide. The Latin American Council of Social Sciences supports, now and always, the demands and the right to decent working conditions for all workers.
This year, iWe invite you to read two things for reflection. Regarding the date:
