German Unity Day

CLACSO participated in the celebration of German Unity Day, which was held on October 20 at the German diplomatic headquarters in Buenos Aires, headed by its host, Ambassador Catalina Cullas.

Present at the meeting, the Executive Director of CLACSO, Pablo Vommaro , greeted Ambassador Cullas, who is the first woman to hold that position in the German diplomatic representation in Argentina.

Cullas highlighted four key aspects of the diplomatic mission: trade relations between the European Union and MERCOSUR, Argentine-German cooperation, academic and scientific exchange, and feminist foreign policy. She also emphasized the importance of preserving scientific ties and ensuring equal participation of women.

The presence of CLACSO reaffirms the cooperative ties between the Council and the various German institutions present in Latin America and the Caribbean.

German Unity Day is Germany's national holiday commemorating the reunification of the country in 1990, when the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) joined the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG).
