CLACSO Working Group on Anticapitalism and Emerging Sociabilities
For thirteen years, the CLACSO Working Group on Anticapitalism and Emerging Sociabilities has been reflecting on different experiences of collective organization that were generated in the territories of Latin America and the Caribbean from a critical, anti-systemic perspective, and applying interdisciplinarity in social science research.
This book, conceived during the pandemic and post-pandemic years (2020-2022), reflects the outcome of a long cycle of meetings, debates, and reflections fostered within the group and with various social, political, labor, peasant, feminist, and grassroots organizations, in a context marked by a rightward shift across much of the region. This situation demanded a necessary and committed approach, amidst the dismantling of democratic mechanisms for deliberation, ongoing attacks on the sustainability of basic social rights, the rise of racism, xenophobia, and femicides, the emergence of a new sociocultural fascism, and the increased exploitation and subordination of the workforce through labor reforms aimed at greater flexibility and precariousness.
