21st Century Challenges from South America
On Thursday, February 26, Tektónikos , on its second anniversary, together with CLACSO and Mundo Sur , convened political and academic leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean for a virtual meeting to discuss the international scenario and the challenges of our region.

In a context marked by the structural crisis in the United States and the imperial offensive led by Donald Trump, the meeting will address three central themes:
🔹 The crisis in the United States: Leandro Morgenfeld , University of Buenos Aires and CLACSO, and Mark Bray , writer from the United States.
🔹 Challenges to Trump's imperialism for a contested Latin America and the Caribbean: Mónica Valente , São Paulo Forum and PT of Brazil, Rander Peña , Vice Minister for Latin America of Venezuela, Carlos Tomada , Mundo Sur, former Argentine ambassador to Mexico, and Darío Pignotti , journalist correspondent in Brazil.
🔹 What to do? The task of popular movements at this stage: Oscar Laborde , former Argentine ambassador to Venezuela, and Carlos Raimundi , former Argentine ambassador to the OAS.
The global hegemonic transition is underway. Our America must decide whether it will be the object or the subject of that transformation.
