This workshop invites participants to explore, from their own lived experiences, the plurality of meanings, disputes, and possibilities within a range of transformative options. Simultaneously, it develops tools for tracing these options in everyday life and from diverse perspectives.
It would seem that peace and democracy are two utopian promises that slip through our fingers when we think about life collectively. Meanwhile, territory is gaining increasing prominence due to the role it plays in democracy. Less evident are the relationships between peace and territory, despite having a point of convergence in democracy. What all three terms do share is their singular enunciation, as if only one version of each deserves attention.
- To problematize, through dialogue and from our own experiences, diverse notions of democracy, peace and territory that we encounter in everyday life.
- Reflecting on tools for tracking practices associated with democratization and peacebuilding from a territorial perspective.
