CLACSO Working Group Critical Studies of Rural Development
The texts published here supported the discussions of the seminar "The defense of the territory, culture and life of peasant and indigenous communities of Latin America and the Caribbean in the face of the advance of extractive capital," held from September 12 to 16, 2019, in Asunción, which brought together leaders of peasant and indigenous social movements, urban organizations that fight for the right to land and the city, and academics from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Paraguay. The public activity was built within the framework of the XIX Annual Meeting of the CLACSO GT Critical Studies of Rural Development, resulting from an alliance with the Faculty of Social Sciences (FACSO) of the National University of Asunción (UNA), through its University Extension Directorate (DEU), the Interdisciplinary Center for Rural Studies of Paraguay (CERI) and supported by the Society of Political Economy of Paraguay (SEPPY), the Union of Workers of FACSO (SITRA-FACSO) and the Center for Studies and Promotion of Democracy, Human Rights and Socio-environmental Sustainability HEÑÓI.
