Decoloniality, emancipation and utopias in Latin America and the Caribbean
This book, a collaboration between CLACSO, the Dominican Studies Institute at the City University of New York (CUNY), and the UNESCO Chair in Social Sciences, Public Policy, and Democratic Governance, is an anthology that brings together texts by various authors, united by a critical approach that seeks to modify the economic, political, and social system of an era marked by a proliferation of inequality, exclusion, and injustice. The diverse works highlight the transformative potential of Latin American social thought, based on three fundamental pillars: dismantling the Eurocentric framework of the social sciences, redefining the universal and imbuing it with an inclusive meaning, and rethinking utopia as a possible bridge between the present and the future.
